WWE SmackDown: Madcap Moss stretchered out of arena after Happy Corbin attack

WWE superstar Madcap Moss was stretchered out of the arena and loaded into an ambulance after a brutal attack on SmackDown.

The rising star – who defeated Happy Corbin in a grudge match at WrestleMania Backlash – was talking to Kayla Braxton in the ring as they reflected on his big win and future goals, but things took a turn for the worse.

Corbin attacked his former friend from behind, unleashing a brutal beat down with a steel chair before wrapping it around his rival’s neck.

The former King of the Ring then hoisted up Madcap’s Andre the Giant trophy and slammed it down on the chair, causing further injury and leaving his foe lying in pain.

After the break, Moss was shown wearing a neck brace on a stretcher as he was wheeled through the backstage area to a waiting ambulance.

Corbin was there to greet him, joking that he was being taken to ‘Mosspital’ as he howled with laughter.

In a storyline update on social media, WWE said Moss was being taken to a local medical facility due to his injuries.

This was exactly what this feud needed to take it to another level, and move both Moss and Corbin away from the humour to some extent.

Madcap could be a major player for the company and Corbin is much more talented than some fans give him credit for, and this latest development bodes well for their storyline.

Drew McIntyre heaped praise on Corbin in the build-up to their WrestleMania 38 match last month, and insisted ‘anyone who says he not talented in-ring is lying to themselves’.

We actually have a genuine hated bad guy that everyone genuinely dislikes.’ If people online are saying, “This guy’s such a good bad guy, he really entertains me”, that’s not a good bad guy,’ he exclusively told Metro.co.uk.

‘A true bad guy is somebody you literally despise and want to see get their butt kicked! That’s what we’ve got right now.’

WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
